Shakira accuses the Spanish government for attempting to stalemate a tax dispute by force ...

Shakira, a worldwide sensation, has faced a tumultuous few months. After an eleven-year relationship and two children, Gerard Piqué contacted the authorities in June and she was revealed to be owed millions of dollars in taxes and faced up to eight years in prison for tax fraud. She has risen stronger than ever.

Shakira accused the Spanish government of attempting to "coerce" a settlement out of her. Between 2012 and 2014, the "Hips Don't Lie" singer was accused of failing to pay her taxes in Spain. Prosecutors demanded that she serve an eight-year prison term and pay a multi-million dollar fine.

Shakira is accused of owing 14.5 million euros in unpaid taxes, according to Spanish authorities. The actress has stated that she had a legal residency in the Bahamas during the years in question, which has no income tax.

In an interview with Elle, Shakira said, "Because I have to fight for what I believe; because these are false allegations."

Due to her busy schedule, the cross-over sensation reveals that spending six months in Spain would have been impossible.

Shakira's spokeswoman stated earlier that the singer would seek full acquittal after rejecting a plea deal. Let's see what happens. To follow Thirsty, keep an eye on Instagram.
