With his Picasso painting, Dr. Dre flexes heavily ...

Pablo Picasso, one of the most prolific and influential artists of the 20th century, was the initiator of the Cubist movement and author of over 20,000 works of art throughout his 91 years on earth. His works have sold for tens of millions of dollars since his death in 1973. Two of the most well-known rappers in the hip-hop industry admire his work.

Dr. Dre and JAY-Z have another thing in common other than their huge hip-hop success. On September 21, his son, Truice Young, shared a photo of his father posing in front of a famous Spanish artist's paintings on his Instagram Stories.

The unusual Picasso painting was displayed on the wall behind Dre as he stands at the center of a marble table in the portrait. Young used the song "Picasso Baby" by JAY-Z from 2013, particularly the line "I just want a Picasso / In my casa — no, my castle."

Picasso's work is no stranger to Dr. Dre. On the song "Deep Water" from his 2015 album Compton, followers may recognize the late painter.

'Picasso Baby' was featured on JAY-Z's 2013 album Magna Carta... Holy Grail, which was riddled with references to fine art. It was also mentioned in Kanye West's 2016 album, The Life of Pablo, which featured the question 'Which one?'

While it is unclear how much Dr. Dre spent on his Picasso painting, his estimated $800 million net worth gives him a seat at the table when it comes to bidding on the artist's work. Keep an eye on Thirsty.
