The Winters family saga will be concluded with Resident Evil Village's DLC ...

The upcoming Resident Evil Village DLC from Capcom has been revealed to be the end of the Winters family story.

Capcom had predicted that the Winters saga would conclude with one more mainline installment of the Resident Evil series. However, this does not appear to be the case.

Instead, the Shadows of Rose DLC has been announced as a family's conclusion.

Kento Kinoshita, the director of Resident Evil Village, told IGN that Capcom is "creating the Shadows of Rose story to conclude the Winters family story."

What will happen next after the Resident Evil Village DLC?

At this time, we can only speculate on what will follow the Resident Evil Village DLC. However, the most likely outcome is that we'll be introduced to a different set of characters.

Capcom might also reintroduce fan favorite characters from previous games. Regardless, the company will likely have to ignore the fact that these will be ageing characters or it might have to create some sort of 'fountain of youth' plotline to explain the never-ageing appearance.

Resident Evil 9 might be in the works.

Last year, rumors began circulating that a ninth numbered entry, dubbed the "Resident Evil Apocalypse", is in the works. Yes.

Other rumors have stated that the next Resident Evil game will feature mythical Goatman and Wendigo creatures. Some creatures will even mimic NPCs, according to others.

Following the release of the Winters Expansion and Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition, fans of this iconic survival horror series will certainly have a good time. The latter package includes the main game as well as the DLC.

The Mercenaries' Winters Expansion and Gold Edition will be available on October 28. This includes a third-person perspective for the main campaign as well as new missions and characters for The Mercenaries.

The RE4 remake is on the way.

When the Winters expansion and Gold Edition are released on March 24, 2023, we can expect the Resident Evil 4 remake.
