Tomohiko Ito, the director of SAO, makes his debut ...

Tomohiko Ito, the director of Wonder X, has published his first manga, which is being serialized on Kadokawa's Comic Newtype platform. Ito is writing the narrative in front of Aniplex's Script Room (the organization was founded in 2016 with the intention of focusing on anime scripts), while Kuroyama is the artist.

The plot of Tomohiko Ito and Mekki Kuroyama's Wonder X manga is set in the early 1990s and follows a group of children who meet a mysterious being. The manga is also included in the October issue of the Newtype magazine.

Tomohiko Ito is best known for his work on A-1 Pictures' Sword Art Online and Sword Art Online II, both of which he directed. Erased, the first season of Silver Spoon, The Millionaire Detective Balance: Unlimited, and Occult Academy, which was his directorial debut, were also directed by him.

Mekki Kuroyama created and illustrated the Amnesia Joker manga adaptation, as well as working as an artist for Isekaigaeri no Moto Yuusha Desu ga, and the Makikomaremashita manga.
