Raw Fury and Out of the Blue Games have announced that Call of the Sea and Townscaper would be developed for Meta Quest 2 next year, and will include voice-acting in English, French, and Spanish.
Call of the Sea has been chosen as a part of the Raindance Festival, which will take place from October 26 to November 26, 2022. The festival recognizes independent VR artists, game designers, virtual world builders, and performers, as well as Townscaper VR, the multi-award winning building simulator from Oskar Stlberg.
Out of the Blue Games will release a sneak peek at Call of the Sea VR for the first time. Fans and festival goers will be able to apply to join the closed beta demo in an effort to be the first to explore and play the game, exploring the tropical island, and solving some of the clever puzzles that await them.
Call of the Sea VR:
- Explore the environments in VR and immerse yourself in a stunning tropical island, brimming with fantastic sights, lost ruins, and subaquatic landscapes.
- Take control of Norah (voiced by Cissy Jones; Firewatch, The Walking Dead) and investigate the clues left by your missing husband’s expedition to solve a variety of clever puzzles and uncover the truth.
Townscaper VR: Where Do You See It?
- Feel like a giant master builder using VR controls
- Watch Townscaper’s underlying algorithm automatically turn building blocks into cute little houses, arches, stairways, bridges, and lush backyards, depending on their configuration.
"Out of the Blue's debut game packs in some challenging puzzles set among some beautiful environments, and has a narrative that keeps you hooked throughout. Norah is a funny character, played by Cissy Jones, but the occasional missteps in the dialogue when portraying an English lady in the 1930s feels far too stereotypical at times."
