'The Railway Children Return' was shot entirely in England, specifically in West Yorkshire. The majority of the filming for the family drama reportedly began in May 2021 and was eventually completed in late June of the same year! England's West Yorkshire

All of the pivotal scenes for 'The Railway Children Return' were shot on location in West Yorkshire, a metropolitan and ceremonial county in England. In particular, the iconic Oakworth Railway Station on Vale Terrace in Oakworth and Keighley & Worth Valley Railway on Station Road in Haworth, both in Keighley, served as two main production locations for the sequel.

The Red Lion pub and a dress shop were renovated in several locations across Haworth Main Street, including The Souk, which became Oakworth Village Butchers, and the Old School Room and the Mytholmes Tunnel were used for shooting the film.

In the film, the Bents Farm in Oxenhope doubles as the children's home, also known as Three Chimneys, which also appeared in the original film. The Salts Mill on Victoria Road in Saltaire was also photographed.

The filming company used three steam locomotives: 5820 USA Transportation Corp, Class S160 (also known as "Big Jim"), 45596 "Bahamas" LMS Jubilee Class, and the 45522 "Bahamas" LMS Jubilee Class.
