Trey Lance's journey to recovery has finally begun.
On Monday, the 49ers' quarterback had an excellent ankle surgery, just one day after suffering a season-ending injury in the 49ers' 27-7 victory over the Seattle Seahawks at Levi's Stadium.
Lance updated his social media profiles shortly after the 49ers' announcement.
Lance's upbeat attitude is encouraging, considering that his 2022 season had to be shortened by only five quarters.
Lance has passed for 797 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions in eight career games (four starts) while completing 54.9 percent of his passes. This gives him an 84.5 passer rating.
Lance has also run 54 times for 235 yards and one touchdown.
The 49ers' offensive line will be led by veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo with Lance out for the season.
On Sunday night, the 49ers will face the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High.
Lance's ankle was affected by a fibula fracture and a ligament rupture during his San Francisco surgery. He will begin the rehabilitation process after being ruled out for the rest of the 2022 season.
