LG announced that their next phone would be a rollable phone a few years ago, setting themselves apart from other companies like Samsung who were experimenting with foldable screens. However, not too long after, the LG announcement that they would be exiting the smartphone market was essentially overturned.
A Korean YouTuber claims to have obtained a near-complete version of the phone for the purpose of the film.
We're sorry that this handset made it onto the market. Even the unboxing of the phone itself was very clever and played into the rollable phone's design. One of the advantages of a rollable handset is that it looks significantly thinner than its foldable competitors and for the most part it retains the smartphone look.
LG claims to have altered the phone's software so that it could expand and shrink according to the display.
It's a shame that the LG rollable never made it onto the market as it looks quite cool, but we do have some concerns regarding the handling and the device's battery life, but who knows, maybe Samsung will pick up where LG left off someday.
