Slow Horses is a spy thriller television series based on Mick Herron's 2010 novel of the same name by Morwenna Banks, Will Smith, Jonny Stockwood, and Mark Denton. The executive producers are Iain Canning, Hakan Kousetta, Jamie Laurenson, Gail Mutrux, Emile Sherman, Douglas Urbanski, and Graham Yost.

On Apple TV+, the first two episodes of the series premiered on April 1, 2022, with the second season expected to premiere soon. In June 2022, the series was renewed for the third and fourth seasons.

Release Date for Slow Horses Season 2

Slow Horses has already been renewed for Seasons 3 and 4. Apple TV+ announced that Season 2 will premiere later in 2022, although no specific date was given.

With the response to the first season so positive, it's probable that Apple will want to get going with production on the third season as fast as possible.

Plot and Cast of Slow Horses

Apple TV Plus has not released an official synopsis for Slow Horses Season 2, but in the teaser, we hear the phrase "dead lions," which coincides to be Herron's second book in the series.

"Under the guise of the Dead Lions book, MI5's disgruntled agents who have been sent to work on their failed careers on desk duty are called into action to protect a Russian oligarch who MI5 hopes to recruit to British intelligence. Dickie Bow, an old Cold War spy, is discovered dead on a bus outside Oxford, far from his usual haunts.

Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb is leading the way, as are Jack Lowden and Saskia Reeves as Catherine Standish, Rosalind Eleazar as Louisa Guy, Dustin Demri-Burns as Min Harper, and Christopher Chung as Roddy Ho.
