The fifth season of New Amsterdam has a release date, but for viewers, it's a surprise surprise. Helen surprised everyone by refusing to attend their wedding at the end of the fourth season when she abandoned Max at the altar.

Max Goodwin, the idealistic and beloved leader of New Amsterdam, is back in charge of his own personal life, which was plunged into jeopardy at the conclusion of season 4.
Max and his colleagues will rise with determination and a renewed commitment to their own lives – reaching for more joy and forging deeper connections with the people they love. Dr. Bloom will continue to navigate her own personal journey, including her estranged sister, Vanessa. Dr. Frome will deal with the mess he has created in his marriage to Martin.
Dr. Reynolds will continue to work on his long-lost father, Horace, after a year of significant family developments. Dr. Elizabeth Wilder, who joined the staff last year, will continue to build on her strong foundation as a key member of the New Amsterdam team and a vital confidante.

New Amsterdam Season 5 Episode 1 will be available on NBC on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The fifth and final season of the series would have 13 episodes less than the previous ones, increasing the total number of episodes in the series to 92. Each episode is expected to last approximately 40 minutes on average.
New Amsterdam will be available on Hulu and NBCUniversal's own streaming platform Peacock the day after it is broadcast on television. Traditional cable/satellite pay-TV subscribers can also watch local NBC stations, even if you use older live TV streaming providers.
