After an Alsina assault complaint, the LAPD is looking into Tory Lanez.
TTory Lanez is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department for allegedly abusing August Alsina after a concert over the weekend.
On Sunday, Alsina posted an Instagram photo of himself with blood streaming from his mouth. Lanez claims to have brutally assaulted him after a gig on Saturday night.
The LADA is investigating allegations that the defendant attacked August Alsina. “The allegations are serious and will be thoroughly investigated,” says the prosecution.
Lanez, who plays Daystar Peterson, has been released on bail after being accused with shooting Megan Thee Stallion in July 2020. The rapper also faces a firearms charge.
Alsina rejects Lanez's handshake backstage in a video posted to Twitter on Monday, showing him celebrating as an off-camera person claims Lanez "knocked him out."
On Saturday, a 30-year-old man was hit in the face by another 30-year-old man, according to Chicago Police Department policy, and they will not confirm the women's identities. Rip Michaels' Fall Back in Love Comedy & Music Jam will be held at the Arie Crown Theater on Saturday.
Lanez denied insulting Alsina in an interview with podcaster Akademics on Sunday. "No, no!" Lanez replied. "I don't even know what this kid is talking about, brother. I don't know if [this] is for a promo."
Lanez has been in legal trouble since the July 2020 incident. In August 2021, the rapper's bond was increased from $190,000 to $250,000 after he made a surprise appearance at the Rolling Loud Miami Festival immediately after Stallion left the stage, breaking a protective order requiring him to keep at least 100 yards away from the "Savage" hitmaker. In April, a judge increased his bond to $350,000 after he allegedly violated court rules to avoid Stallion.
Lanez is waiting for his trial. If found guilty, he might be sentenced to 22 years in prison.
