Everything you need to know about Overwatch 2 Season 1

Everything you need to know about Overwatch 2 Season 1 ...

Overwatch 2 made an appearance at the Tokyo Game Show in 2022, and we’ve seen the new characters coming to the game at launch, as well as the Battle Pass and some of the new maps we're getting for the new game in this article.

Activision Blizzard is removing the Overwatch 2 from its online store, which will instead be a purchasable title with loot box microtransactions. More rewards will be locked behind the paid premium track in the game.

Three New Characters

Sojourn, Junker Queen, and Kiriko, the newly-introduced characters in Overwatch 2 will be available for free with the Battle Pass's free-to-play mode. Moreover, Overwatch 1 players will earn Kiriko after Sojourn and Junker Queen.

Battle Pass is a digital signature for the army.

The new Kiriko character will be unlocked at Level 55 (out of 80) in the free-to-play Battle Pass. Along with Kiriko, there are 15 new rewards and two epic skins.

The $10 premium battle pass will unlock Kiriko instantly and give players a 20% Season XP boost. Players will also be eligible for an all-new mythic skin, five legendary skins, one epic skin, and 56 yet-to-be-released rewards.

The more you play, the more points you earn, according to many modern video games. Overwatch Coins are earned by completing weekly challenges, which they can then use to purchase other cosmetics in the in-game store, mostly older skins and bundles from Overwatch 1.

A New Multiplayer Experience

The new multiplayer experience of Overwatch 2 does not alter the landscape of Overwatch competitive gameplay, with the 6v6 being transformed into a 5v5 match, and a new game mode, Push, being introduced. All 32 characters from the first Overwatch will make a comeback in the game.

Cross Progression and Crossplay

Overwatch 2 will be available on any of the various platforms as long as they use the same user account. Crossplay is also available, eliminating the need for you to coordinate which platform you should be playing with.

What does Overwatch 2's future hold?

The game will launch its first limited-time event, "Junkenstein's Revenge: The Wrath of the Bride," in October and November, 2022. Along with the three already revealed characters, Activision Blizzard has announced that there will be another new character this year, as promised in 2022.

Fans, us included, were apprehensive about Overwatch 2's entire idea of launching it, and why we think it might fail with what it's already delivering at launch. At this point, only time will tell whether or not it will actually capture the same lightning in a bottle as the original in 2016.
