Dwayne Johnson wants to direct a film starring Black Adam ...

Dwayne Johnson has set his sights on a Marvel and DC crossover film. There are many possibilities for DC to broaden its scope in the future, including a series of films that explored Black Adam's backstory. These include Justice Society of America, which was previously a popular film, and James Gunn's Suicide Squad.

Dwayne Johnson has some high expectations for DC and his Black Adam film. He has already expressed interest in collaborating on a Marvel/DC crossover film. Now, it appears that he is considering establishing a whole film around Black Adam. He has been reinvented as an anti-hero, so there may be some exploration going on that will put Adams' moral ground to the test.

Black Adam is expected to be the film that changes the DCEU for the foreseeable future, so it makes sense to have spinoff films dedicated to exploring the characters introduced in the first film. The Justice Society of America is a group that existed before the Justice League; also, the villains in the film are Intergang, who have links to both Darkseid and Apokolips. Dwayne Johnson may have done his homework and considered a proposal to extend what Black Adam will mean to the entire DCEU.

The DCEU has been in limbo in recent weeks, with the Warner Bros. Discovery acquisition causing some worrying developments. Batgirl was canceled, leaving behind a film that was popular among fans and costing around $90 million to produce. Ezra Miller is now helping, which is fantastic. However, there has been no indication that any of the other DCEU films will be canceled as well, including Black Adam and Black Canary.

Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Atom Smasher, Cyclone, and Sabacc are just a few of the characters that will be introduced in the film in the following years. Although DC initially attempted to do so with the Zack Snyder era and failed, it may be time for Dwayne Johnson to step in and lead the way.

Black Adam will be released on October 21, 2022. DC will release its first major film after the Snyder Cut of Justice League and James Gunn's The Suicide Squad. Hopefully, things will go smoothly from here on out.
