Johnny Depp might return to the Fantastic Beasts franchise, according to Mads Mikkelsen.

Here's all you need to know about it.

Mads Mikkelsen was interviewed by Deadline to discuss the possibility of Johnny Depp reprising his role in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts film.

Mikkelsen said, "Clearly, well, the course has changed." He won the lawsuit (against Amber) and the court (case." So lets see if he comes back. He might.

Im a huge fan of Johnny, and I think he did a fantastic job. Having said that, I could not copy it. It would be creative suicide if I could just copy it. So, we had to come up with something different, something that was mine, and build a bridge between him and me.

The 56-year-old actor continued, "It was terrifying." His followers were very, very kind, but they were also very stubborn. I didn't interact much with them, but I could understand why they had their hearts broken.

He also expressed his joy at the prospect of collaborating with Depp in the future.

Depp won the battle against Amber Heard, his former wife, several months later.

Depp was sacked from most of Hollywood's industries after Heard wrote an open letter accusing him of domestic violence. He was therefore dismissed from the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

In the Harry Potter spinoff series, the 59-year-old actor played Gellert Grindelwald, the famous dark wizard.

In the first two films of the Fantastic Beasts franchise, Johnny Depp played Gellert Grindelwald. They were 2016s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and 2018s Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

In the wake of his highly publicized affair with Amber Heard, Depp was replaced by Mads Mikkelsen.

Mikkelsen has gone on to play Grindelwald in the third film which is titled Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. The film premiered earlier this year on cinema screens.

Depps supporters pushed hard for him to reprise his famous roles following his victory in the controversial trial.

Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Ezra Miller, and Katherine Waterson are all members of the franchise.

Currently, two new films have been announced in the series, but the fourth part is still in the works.
