A man has surrendered in connection with the death of a TikTok star's son.
A prominent TikTok user turned himself in to police on Thursday in the death of his son.
Reuben Thomas Gulley of Saraland, 20, has been charged with murder in the shooting of Randon Lee, 18 years old, on June 24 at a service station in Prichard.
Ophelia Nichols, also known as shoelover99, is the daughter of TikTok celebrity Kim Lee. Nearly 7 million of her followers refer to her as Mama Tot.
Lee would have turned 19 on June 25th, Lee's nineteenth birthday.
The Lees family reported to WKRG-TV that on June 24, Prichard police received a report that he was shot at a gas station.
Prichard Police Department Detective Jason Hadaway said that Lee and a few suspects drove to the station in Prichard, a suburb of Mobile, at around 8 p.m. CDT with the intent of selling and distributing drugs, according to reports.
A suspect gotten into Lees' vehicle and shot him, according to Hadaway.
The suspect reportedly retaliates to their vehicle and drove off with the other suspects as Lee, who had been shot, went to the Energize petrol station across the street for treatment. According to the media outlet, his death occurred immediately.
Nichols wrote on Facebook days after her son's death, urging readers not to judge her son unfairly because of the manner he died. Nothing can ever make us feel ashamed about him.
I made poor choices myself when I was 18 years old. I remember the person who murdered my son and have compassion for his family once they learn about it, according to Nichols. Others may not realize it, but now there will be two families that are hurt and broken. It will not just be mine. This person will be accountable, I believe.
