Is She-Hulk TV Worth Watching?

Is She-Hulk TV Worth Watching? ...

The Disney+ side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has explored sitcoms, Egypt, and Pakistan, among other things. With She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Tatiana Maslany takes viewers into the courtroom.

Many on Marvel Studios' behalf have promoted She-Hulk as its first 30-minute legal comedy, forming a fresh genre for the already well-established franchise. However, cameos and special appearances have been planned throughout the journey to keep that true Marvel anticipation alive.

She-Hulk is expected to make the transition to the big screen eventually, alongside other Disney+ actors such as Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight, and one can only wonder how and if her program will provide that jumping-off point.

She-Hulk: Attorney-at-Law has decided that she will continue to shine on Disney+, and that she will shine. With a vibrantly eccentric cast, an eyebrow-wracking plot, and solid MCU roots, She-Hulk: Attorney-at-Law has officially declared that court is in session.

Tatiana Maslany's She-Hulk, please stand up for her.

Tatiana Maslany, who has starred in Orphan Black, has been cast in the role of Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk, a woman whose existence is turned upside down when she is exposed to her cousin's gamma-infected blood. Hulk, Mark Ruffalo's cousin, is the MCU's green machine for over a decade.

Despite this, Maslany shines as the headstrong, relatable Jennifer Walters, a woman whose life goes from normal to nothing but in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Maslany is enticingly funny in the role of She-Hulk, playing the dual role of the modern-day woman and superherolawyer in an extremely funny manner.

Maslany will be rooting for them every step of the way, from facing the world through online dating to defending the man who attempted to murder her cousin back in 2008.

Supporting Cast: Opening Statement

Maslany isn't the only person who's bringing the show. Along with her are Ginger Gonzaga's Nikki, Jameela Jamil's Titania, and a host of other actors and actresses who make varied appearances for She-Hulk.

Bruce Banner from Mark Ruffalo discusses his journey to becoming an Avengers: Endgame character as Smart Hulk, sharing his background and explaining what exactly he was up to when half of the universe was uncovered. Both seek legal help from Jennifer Walters herself, and reveal strange sides to their identities along the way.

Nikki from Gonzaga is a funny ride-or-die best friend to Jennifer Walters, while Jamil's Titania is a funny egotistical character who immediately follows She-Hulk's newly-formed brand.

The whole cast of She-Hulk brings the series together as one that is sure to delight viewers, laughing, and attempting to solve the legal cases themselves.

Plot and Comedic Elements in Witness Testimony

The fact that She-Hulk is a 30-minute legal comedy gives the show time to experiment with several different plots in each episode, although some of them overlap with others. The most prominent of these examples is the case of Emil Blonsky aka Tim Roth's Abomination, which is one of a few references to 2008's The Incredible Hulk.

Jennifer Walters will also appear alongside Benedict Wong's Wong in a series that starts off with Jamil's Titania, the series' principal antagonist.

She-Hulk makes the transition to the comedic tone of the show in a unique way, breaking the fourth wall, a tactic many dead-right Marvel fans might be used to from Deadpool's side of things. However, She-Hulk does it in a different way, making the mechanic her own.

Otherwise, the show's humor fits very nicely into its comedy, such as Jennifer going onto the dating app scene as both herself and her She-Hulk persona. The show is also hyper-aware of itself at times, even mentioning how some of its surprises will likely wind up trending on Twitter for the next week.

Visuals from Cross-Examination

She-Hulk's biggest flaw in the run-up to its release was criticism of its visual effects, which increased when the first teaser trailer was released for the Disney+ series. The special effects work has continued throughout other promotions, as well.

The She-Hulk's appearance on the screen should not be taken too seriously; there are little to no weird outlandishly noticeable flaws in her existence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Though she admittedly doesn't look as polished as Ruffalo's Hulk, Maslany's hero blends in nicely with her surroundings to feel like she is, in fact, a seven-foot-tall green lawyer trying to live as normal as possible.

The return of iconic Doctor Strange portals and Hulk vs. She-Hulk fighting mechanisms are two welcome VFX nods, both of which will be enjoyed by many as two indestructible beings get pushed around in what would be painfully harmful to most other heroes.

MCU Connections: A Closing Statement

How does She-Hulk fit into the larger MCU, as is probably the greatest MCU fan's concern? Who is there to host the Easter eggs? Who else is showing up? All of these questions should make fans happy.

She-Hulk has already promised cameos, and she does so right off the bat, with Emil Blonksky and Wong almost immediately coming into play. For other surprises, fans are prepared to see Charlie Cox return to the streaming world as Daredevil at some point in the series, with head writer Jessica Gao revealing that other cameos haven't even been revealed yet.

Ti-ins to other projects are prominent, particularly with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, as audiences will learn about the origins of Wong and Abomination's cage fight as well as what Wong himself has been up to otherwise as the newly-named Sorcerer Supreme.

She-Hulk Is Another Disney+ Win, According to The Verdict

As this review has demonstrated...

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will undoubtedly wreak havoc on fans (jurors?) throughout the world with its humor, surprises around every corner, and overall feel-good humor. While, at this point, it's hard to predict how She-Hulk will make it to theaters, this eventual moment should be met with both laughter and joy.

Jennifer Walters starts her superhero journey on Disney+ every Thursday, whether or not they like it.

On Disney+, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will be released on Thursday, August 18.
