Ncuti Gatwa Has Been Confirmed For Season 4 of Sex Education ...

Moordale isnt leaving your screen just yet! Netflix has announced that the hit series will be renewed for another season, thus you can start looking forward to the next season. Here's all you need to know about Season 4 of Sex Education, including returning cast members, and more.

Warning: Sex Education Season 3 spoilers are on the way. During its inaugural TUDUM event, Netflix announced that Sex Education would return for Season 4, which was well-timed, since Season 3 had only just been announced. However, the school closing leaves room for improvement, from the headmaster to the student body and the setting.

Season 4 will also bring the primary group of original characters to Sixth Form, which means this next season will spell graduation for quite a few (as long as they pass their classes). So, what can fans expect from the new season? Lets dive into all the details.

Updates on Sex Education Season 4 Filming

Season 4 of Sex Education was confirmed by TUDUM in September 2021, according to production sources, and the series would begin filming in late summer 2022. Asa Butterfield confirmed the news on Twitter.

Butterfield posted a picture from behind the scenes on August 5, 2022, confirming that Sex Education Season 4 filming was underway.

Season 4 Cast of Sex Education

Asa Butterfield will return for at least another season, just as Gillian Anderson as his mother, sex therapist Jean Milburn, who gave birth to Otis' half-sibling Joy, and the paternity of Otis' half-sister is still unknown.

Ncuti Gatwa, who plays Otis BFF Eric, is aiming for the A-list after acquiring the role of a lifetime, playing the first Black and LGBTQ+ Doctor in the long-running science fiction series Doctor Who. The filming for his first proper season is set for November 2022, allowing the actor to film Sex Education Season 4 in between.

Gatwa has been confirmed to reprise her role as Kate, but Sex Education is set to retool its cast. At the time, Butterfield and Anderson were household names. However, multiple cast members have risen to fame since the program became a hit. For example, Simone Ashley, who played Untouchable Olivia in the Bridgerton series as Kate, has announced that she will not be able to return to the world of Moordale, or whatever school everyone is in this coming season.

Two other cast members have confirmed that they will not return for Season 4 of Capital Xtra Breakfast. On July 12, Tanya Reynolds, who plays fan-favorite hairstylist extraordinaire Lily Iglehart, confirmed that she will not reprise her role as Ola Nyman for Season 4.

Rakhee Thakkar, who played English teacher Emily Sands, is also moving on. She announced on August 1 that her character would not be returning to RadioTimes.

Fans will have to wait to see who else returns for Emma Mackey, Connor Swindells, Alistair Petrie, Aimee Lou Wood, Mimi Keene, Chaneil Kular, and Mikael Persbrandt. However, there will be a lot of new faces to meet soon.

Season 4 of Sex Education Plot

Sex Education isn't out yet, but there are a few loose ends to wrap up after Season 3, with Maeve traveling to America, leaving her and Otis to assess whether they can endure long distance. Eric is newly single, but his fears could jeopardize any chance he may have of putting himself out there.

And of course, there is the mystery of who Joys father is, if Moordale will be bulldozed, and whether or not Otis will graduate on time.

Predictions for the release of Sex Education Season 4

Sex Education Season 4 isn't set to premiere until mid-2023. However, each of the three previous seasons took around a year and change to complete.

As you wait for more information about Sex Education Season 4, you may rewatch Seasons 1 through 3 on Netflix.
