Idris Elba is one of the most popular actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe currently. He played the titular character in Thor: Love and Thunder, and we think he might reprise his role as Heimdall in another film.
Idris Elba is one of the most popular actors in the world right now. He is also one of the most popular fan-favorite actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Heimdall was introduced to us in the early Thor movies, and he returned for Avengers: Infinity War, where Thanos executed the man right after he sent Hulk back to Earth. However, does this mean that Elba may return in future films?
Heimdall would have no problem being welcomed into Valhalla in Asgardian culture and Viking mythology, but perhaps he may be a character that dies but recovers in the same way as Force Ghosts in Thor: Love and Thunder. That is a possibility that a future film might explore.
Thor: Love and Thunder was a little disappointing, though it did provide some great moments for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Also, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to introduce more of the MCU's traditional heroes, such as Zeus the Sub-Mariner, who acts as a god of sorts. We think Heimdall might be brought back for some other reason.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently dealing with the multiverse, so it stands to reason that Heimdall, as we know, isn't the only one out in the multiverse. Idris Elba might return as a different version of Heimdall, although it's another avenue to explore.
Idris Elba is expected to play Bloodsport in Beast, and he has stated that he is working on a major project for DC. He was well-known for his portrayal of the character in James Gunns The Suicide Squad. Though he is busy, it appears he might be willing to reprise his role as Heimdall in a larger role.
