Anne Heche, an Emmy Award winner who died on August 12, was remembered for her beautiful children, her iconic body of work, and her tireless advocacy. Her courage for always standing in her truth and spreading her message of love and acceptance will continue to have an impact on our lives.
Heche, who was struck by two sons, Homer, 20 and Atlas, 13, was in critical condition after the car caught fire on August 5 and was put in a coma, according to her rep, adding that she had not recovered from her injuries until about August 12. Doctors are continuing to research her long-term desire to donate any viable organs.
Homer, her oldest son, expressed his thanks to the media in part. I am left with a deep, wordless sadness, he said in part. Hopefully my mom will be free from pain and beginning to explore what I like to imagine as her eternal freedom.
Ellen DeGeneres and James Tupper, who dated Heche from 1997 to 2000, shared a photo on Instagram, simply writing, love you forever, and a broken heart emoji. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Kyle Richards, Terri Hatcher, and Emily VanCamp also expressed their solidarity with Tupper.
After receiving the news of the Other World actors' passing the next day, Rosanna Arquette tweeted, "Relief in Peace now Anne."
Carrie Ann Inaba and Keo Motsepe, her DWTS partner, paid tribute to Heche in 2020. She tweeted that she will always remember her performances on the ABC show. We will miss your beautiful, unique, and free spirit.
Heches shared a special devotion with Antonio Banderas and The Real alum Loni Love while both writing, and Rest In Peace.
Carrie Preston, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Marg Helgenberger, and Lauren Tom honored Heches' previous colleagues by lauding her talent.
Heches's many tributes demonstrate that she will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
