Mady discusses Andy's self-elimination and fun future on Love Island USA ...

Mady McLanahan, a Love Island USA competitor, says leaving the villa was the best she ever made.

In an exclusive interview with Page Six, Andy [Voyen] reveals that her early departure from the Peacock reality show resulted in the greatest loss of her life.

I was really trying to be optimistic and put myself out there. Just because I knew I owed it to myself, I needed to investigate if there was another connection I was really making, McLanahan says.

I could but at the end of the day, all I could think about was Andy.

Earlier this week, the Islanders were asked to return one girl and one boy to their respective clubs after a surprise elimination.

Bryce Fins was eventually sent packing by the group. McLanahan departed on her own initiative, confident that no other man could match Voyen, who has a sweet disposition and deep affection for his family that she couldn't resist.

When it came down to it, I knew someone would have to leave, and there was a voice inside of me that was like, You need to volunteer. And when I said it, I was like, This is the correct thing for me to do, she adds.

I knew it was time for me to come to an end, and I would begin my journey with someone else.

McLanahans' farewell address to her castmates shocked many, leaving many in tears, and her villa bestie, Deb Chubb, seemed incomprehensible.

Deb's outburst of anger was one of my worst experiences of my life. Besides Andy's departure, that was my most difficult goodbye. She is my best friend now and I did not want to leave her. I will miss her and everyone else, as she says.

If I had stayed another week and my head was still in it, it would not have been fair to anyone.

McLanahan pursued a relationship with the handsome photographer after Voyen left.

I was attracted to them when I was talking to people; they did check a lot of my boxes, but I just didn't see it working, she adds.

Voyen briefly discussed a romance with contestant Sydney Paight earlier in the season. However, he regretted his decision and decided to recouple with McLanahan, despite the fact that he had to fight hard to get her back.

According to me, he realized how much he truly loved me and how much he wanted a second chance, and that even if he didnt deserve it, he would do everything in his power to restore that respect.

They did not show all of the effort that he put in, nor how apprehensive he was for putting me in this position in the first place.

McLanahan felt they could thrive in the real world after reconciling with Voyen and a series of long, good conversations.

I was taking everything into account. Is it possible to marry this person years down the road? Would this person be a great father to my future kids, according to the author of their conversations.

From the start of our conversations, I knew that our connection might actually work outside of the villa.

Following flirty FaceTime calls and numerous texts, McLanahan in Oklahoma and Voyen in Minnesota have discussed reuniting in person next week.

He is planning on coming to Oklahoma. On our brunch date [in the villa], we talked a lot about brunch, and how much he loves bottomless mimosas, so I think we should definitely go to brunch, according to the social media marketing manager.

As well as going out to eat and having a few margaritas, I believe just having time alone and getting to reconnect and have those conversations about what our future would be like is really the aim.

At this point, McLanahan and Voyen are taking their relationship one day at a time. We have to get back into the routine of life, but we were all very excited to see what was possible.

Love Island USA's rapid learning has already established that they are open to relocating for one another.

Andy and I think a future together would be really fun. Were both extremely positive people and we do bring out the best in each other, McLanahan tells Page Six, adding that their respective loved ones have even given their seal of approval solely from seeing the couple's love story unfold onscreen.

I certainly see a very good future with him.

Sarah Hyland's Love Island USA is available to stream on Peacock. New episodes begin Tuesday through Sunday at 9 p.m. ET.
