Nearly every small town in England has a Costa Coffee as of 2022, with 2,681 locations compared to Starbucks (SBUX) - Get Starbucks Corporation Report's 1,025 stores.

The London-based coffee chain is known for everything from its hot and cold beverages menu andcheese toasties to the annual award for the best books of the year. Globally, it is also the second-largestcoffee chain with over 4,000 offices.

The brand has always endeavoured to stay current with the times since its founding in 1971. Most recently, the company took the form of coffee deliveries operated by robot baristasanddrone.

Costa Coffee has remained in the United Kingdom for years, and is thus still virtually unheard of. That's until it caught the eye of Coca-Cola (KO) - Get Coca-Cola Company (The) Report.

Where Can I Get Some Costa Coffee in the United States?

Coca-Cola's purchase of Costa Coffee ended in 2019, with a cost of $5.1 billion, and announced immediately plans to expand the brand across the Atlantic Ocean, as was the initial outcome of the COVID-19 epidemic.

Costa Coffee's first American location in Atlanta was officially opened at the start of August three years after the acquisition and just over 50 years after its initial opening in the United Kingdom.

A sparkling-new Costa Coffee vending machine was created at the National Restaurant Association booth last May in Chicago.

The first American Costa Coffee, which was built in the CODA Building in Atlanta's Midtown, has the unique design, and deep red colors of its British locations and is intended to serve as a test pilot of plans to expand in the United States and throughout continental Europe.

Costa Coffee is planning to sell Americans various drip coffees from manual machines as well as espressos and other coffee products for house delivery.

What Does Coca-Cola Do With It?

"The amount of espresso-based beverages is on the rise at 26% and has increased beyond pre-pandemic levels," Costa Coffee U.S. General Manager, citing statistics from the National Coffee Association for Beverage Daily. "[This makes] the right time to offer an excellent, espresso-based coffee in the United States."

While Coca-Cola's brands are almost totally linked to its high-end beverage, the beverage company owns over 200 brands for everything from juice and kombucha to alcohol.

Coca-Cola has also been on a serious mission to expand the amount of coffee available to customers in 2021, with a 30% share in Casa Del Caffe Vergnano, and a canned coffe-flavored cola, according to the company, "sips like a Coke and finishes like a coffee."

Coca-Cola isn't the only one who wants to rival Starbucks with their own coffee products. PepsiCo Inc. Reporthad launched Pepsi Cafe in 2020 if that cola-coffee hybrid has largely fung out without a strong buyer base.

Coca-Cola has offered a wide range of coffee solutions in the United States over the years, including options from many brands and in various formats. "Costa Coffee's US debut represents the first time we are bringing in a premium coffee offer with a solid global fan base."
