Subscribers will cost more than Phase 4 of MCU Phase 5 Disney+ Shows ...

Following two additional Marvel Studios projects expected to arrive in 2022, the next year will begin with Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe starting with the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in February. This will also include at least half a dozen new entries coming exclusively on Disney+, kicking off a fresh era of storytelling from different corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The first sophomore season of any live-action MCU show yet will include Tom Hiddleston's Loki, who comes almost immediately following the MCU's first Disney+ crossover event in Secret Invasion. Then, 2024 will bring Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio into an epic 18-episode adventure with Daredevil: Born Again, but there are also some changes to the service that will house these new shows.

Disney said in March 2022 that Disney+ would sell a lower-priced version of the service that included adverts, which would be released before the end of the year. More information on the update has made its way to the public, indicating some of the changes that MCU supporters will need to make before Phase 5 starts.

Phase 5 Disney+ Shows in Marvel Increase Cost

According to a new source, Disney+ pricing will come with a decrease this December, combined with an option that excludes ads. Disney+ Basic, the new ad-free version of the service, will cost $10.99 per month and will begin on December 8. Disney+ Basic, a software that will start at a rate of 4 minutes every hour, will cost $7.99 per month.

The price bump for the commercial-less tier, the version that Marvel fans have enjoyed through Phase 4, is a massive 38% increase, the greatest increase the service has seen.

Phase 5 will focus on at least six new exclusive Disney+ premieres throughout the next two years.

Phase 4 of the MCU was created withWandaVision in January 2021, and will conclude withShe-Hulk, a nine-episode series that finishes in October 2022. At $7.99 per month, Marvel fans will have to pay $176 per share to keep up with all of Disney+'sPhase 4 Marvel shows as they were released.

Phase 5 of Marvel's film will begin withSecret Invasion (slated to release in Spring 2023) and will conclude withDaredevil: Born Again, an 18-episode series that should begin in late Summer 2022. Assuming that Phase 5 will last for 19 months on Disney+, the whole time, MCU diehards will need to spend$209 to watch the entire slate as it comes out, $33 more than the total subscriber cost for Phase 4.

Will the Disney+ price increase impact MCU viewers' chances?

As streaming services become more prevalent in the whole media landscape, price increases for services like Netflix, Hulu, and even Disney+ have become somewhat common. However, with Disney+ increasing in price more this time than any previous price update, this could hamper any amount of changes for viewershipas the Multiverse Saga.

Phase 4 provided the franchise's biggest round of programming in history, totaling more minutes of screentime than the entire Infinity Saga combined. Phase 5 might very well challenge or pass that mark, with the Daredevil seriesalone having at least twice as many episodes as any previous Disney+ series, and there will be even more interconnectivity between these shows and the theatrical movies.

The only mystery remains is whether specific shows will actually have ads attached to them, with the report indicating that some of the titles may run the same as they always have. Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will likely be included in this new round of ad-based programming, but no change will be made until the changes arrive at the end of the year.

In Spring 2023, phase 5 of the Disney+ series will begin with the Secret Invasion.
