With I Am Groot, Disney+ unveils a new MCU timeline order ...

Marvel Studios is preparing to remake the lackof Guardians of the Galaxy in a large way! Alongside the ragtag crew featured in Thor: Love and Thunder, the Holiday Special will be released later this year, followed by their third (and final?) film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. However, although the filmmaker and director of Guardians just did not write the series of shorts, their debut confirms their innocence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Disney+ is the source of anMCU film or Disney+ series. As each new project gets added to the streamer, the chronological timeline changes.

Although James Gunn originally stated that I Am Groot is not canon, and the fact that the animated shorts were released after Groot's early years, the sacred Disney+ MCU Timeline suggests otherwise.

What Is the Timeline for 'I Am Groot'?

In the Timeline Order section, I Am Groot's debut on Disney+ has confirmed its inclusion on the MCU timeline, but some episodes may differ from others.

The first steps of "Groot" are held between Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, while the rest of the episodes are preceded by Vol. 2.

Groot is no longer a baby in Phase 4 and soon-to-be Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to Gunn, the actor is confirmed to be in Avengers: Infinity War and then Endgame; while other viewers may see him as adult in Vol. 3.

I Am Groot takes place between the end of Guardians 2 and before the tag scene in Guardians 2. According to reports, episodes 2 through5 ofGroot's solo series have occurred just before the final post-credits scene ofVol. 2, explaining why they are technically placed in the official timeline.

The first Avengerare is proof that rearranging projects out of chronological order. Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Loki, and evenCaptain America are some of the most promising names in the history of this event.

While I Am Groot's position near the Galaxy Vol. 2 isn't too difficult to understand, things might become complicated in the near future.

Since President Kevin Feige confirmed that the current saga of the Marvel Studios is the Multiverse Saga, it will be interesting to see if it will influence future films and Disney+ series and where they fall chronologically, especially with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty looming in Phase 6.

In the meantime, it appears that Disney+ will remain the definitive reference for when and where projects fall. And, no doubt, Marvel fans will need it in this ever-expanding world.
