While it was great to catch up with Chris Hemsworths God of Thunder in Thor: Love and Thunder, audience members got a little dose of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Unfortunately, their contribution to play was relatively small, so they were gone before viewers knew it.
When will the world see the group again? Well, they will have the Holiday Special later this year, and then Vol. 3 next summer. Though, for Groot lovers out there, there will be a small little appetizer to choose from in a few days.
Five small shorts based on everyone's favorite sentient tree, Groot. More specifically, the small bite-sized adventures will focus on the baby version of the character seen in Vol. 2 of The Guardians of the Galaxy.
While Disney has already revealed what fans should expect in each installment, it has now begun to release fun posters for all of the upcoming episodes.
Groot Has Got a Limited Number of New Posters
In the first batch of episodes for I Am Groot, Marvel Studios and Disneystarted releasing new posters for each short set to premiere.
Groot's First Steps is seen in his iconic white pot from the end of the first Guardians of the Galaxy film. However, things are different, although he is much larger.
Next up, Groot Takes A Bath, which looks to be a fairly relaxed outing for the young sapling.
The poster for Groots Pursuit says nothing about the short but puts a spotlight on his shadow.
Groot contacts a miniature civilization in the fourth episode of the show.
Last but certainly not least, is the poster for 'Magnum Opus,' which sees Groot take on an art project.
New Adventures from Groots Are Now Available
For those wondering if these shorts are found on the MCU canon, or Earth-616 more specifically, a Marvel Studios producer confirmed that these are usually conducted between the end of Vol. 2 and the post-credits scene. Though, there must be a slight exception, considering how Groots First Steps sees the facility taking its first steps.
The shorts look like a fun day with Groot and are perfect old-fashioned fun. At San Diego Comic-Con 2022, it was announced that the program will have additional episodes at some point in the future, although no date or release was given.
Hopefully, these will be enough to satisfie audiences seeking more Guardians action until the Holiday Special later this year. Especially after the SDCC footage, fans are on the edge of their seats to see how the teams journey progress.
I Am Groot is now streaming on Disney+.
