Review of Locke and Key Season 3

After the events of Locke and Key Season 2, everything appears to be normal for the Lockes. It has been two months since Dodge and Eden are gone, and Bode, Kinsey, and Nina are all preparing for Duncan's next wedding. Tyler is aloof and does not communicate much with the family, and Nina suggests they give Tyler more time to recover due to Jackie's death and Tyler's age.

The wedding of Duncans takes hold as the Keyhouse shake-up approaches. Eden has foolishly called back Captain Frederick Gideon from the previous who is now a demon. Gideon actively seeks for them whether it be by using other demons trapped in a snow globe or creating echoes to invade the Lockes.

As everyone lives in danger, Duncan disappears and Tyler is on the verge of losing everything, the Lockes and their friends will have to join forces to fight the many evil creatures that are set to make the magical keys their own.

The first season of Locke and Key Season 3 has been a perfect starting point for this adaptation, while the second season is taking a long turn. However, the episodes begin off very quickly without giving the characters much time to get their footing. However, the involvement of multiple subplots and okay-ish villains does not provide enough room for the characters' emotional breathing.

Season 2 of Locke and Key was dark and daring because it had so many charismatic emotional moments, whether it be Duncan and Nina choosing to remember all of the magical memories of Jackies death and Gabes reality. This is something season three fails as it progresses from one moment to another without much thought.

There are also certain unnecessary characters that do absolutely nothing for the plot but make an appearance here and there. For example, Carly might just be Tyler's potential love interest but, her presence really does nothing to the storyline but, rather acts as a filler. This season, we also have two nonsensical lines, who are nothing like we expect them to be. Josh, until the last season, was a pretty unreliable character with a dark season but this season he appears to have taken a step back

The improvement comes in the form of the discovery of new key and possibilities reflecting the joy of the first season. However, the actors are equally professional in repurposing their roles. The highlight must be the performance of Jackson Robert Scotts dual nature, and Darby Stanchfields emotional support for her children. This Locke and Key Season 3 has Connor Jessup, however, despite how much he has delivered in previous seasons, but it could be because his character is unable to remember the keys for the longest time.

Season 3 of Locke and Key: The Final Verdict

Overall, Locke and Key Season 3 is fantastic and ends things up decently. The first few episodes are a tense but here's where we got all of the benefits we paid. The location, like its predecessors, is unique and in an unexpected setting that keeps you biting your nails.

This season, however, had the potential to do so much better. As we know, Locke and Key Season 3 is the final chapter for the Lockes, the Keys, and Keyhouse, so that perhaps there might have been more clues and magic involved. Nonetheless, for enthusiasts, this is the final journey and you should take it.
