Far Cry 6 was released on October 7, 2021, following several delays related to the epidemic. Players battle enemy soldiers and animals in an attempt to topple dictator "El Presidente" Anton Castillo, who is played by Giancarlo Esposito of Breaking Bad fame. The game received mixed reviews from critics, scoring a 73 on Metacritic.
Far Cry 6 has previously been discounted, but this is the first time we know of that it has been completely free to try. Better yet, if you like it and want to acquire it when the free weekend expires, all of your progress will continue.
Ubisoft is offering a significant discount to go along with the promotion. For a limited time, you can get 60 percent off Far Cry 6, including a limited edition of the collector's edition with a replica flame thrower.
For those who want to get a Season Pass or earlier DLC, there are discounts of up to 50 percent, including Vaas Montenegro from Far Cry 3, Pagan Min from Far Cry 4, and Far Cry 5's Joseph "The Father" Seed.
The prices vary by platform, so be sure to check out Ubisoft's blog for more information. There is also a photo mode contest on August 12 that will allow you to win prizes including AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics cards, collector figurines, Corsair headsets, and more.
