Eric Adams has gained a lot of attention since becoming the mayor of New York City. Among his other accomplishments is his advocacy that drill music was an issue in the city and that YouTube and other online video providers should remove drill rap music videos.
Adams' favorability suffered a great deal as a result of his interactions with artists such as French Montana. He has now appeared to be receiving greater support from the genre than before.
During a press conference, Adams revealed a $5.5 million investment in the Universal Hip-Hop Museum in South Bronx. Adams continued by stating that since hip-hop is closely associated with the city of New York, making this investment is necessary.
Adams continued, making a very interesting point. He said he is the first New York mayor to appreciate the genre.
For the first time in New York City history, we have a Hip Hop mayor.
