Daisy Edgar-Jones told Sonys Where the Crawdads Sing star that she is looking for new characters to play. Edgar-Jones revealed that she is now changing her career and changing her perception of the Hollywood industry.
Edgar-Jones explained that she likes to play a lot of gentle and quiet nice people, but I would like to play characters that are completely different from myself. She wants to change and pick characters that aren't my obvious casting, and she would like to try her hand at being a villain.
Edgar-Jones said in a statement about the release of Where the Crawdads Sing that it is really exciting to be a part of a film that isnt a huge action sequence or a superhero film. I think it is also important to demonstrate that there is a following out there for this type of film, which is quieter, female-led, and a character study.
Kya (Daisy Edgar-Jones) raised herself in the dangerous marshlands of North Carolina. However, when one of them is discovered dead, Kya immediately becomes the main suspect in the case.
Olivia Newman's film was directed by Lucy Alibar, who directed the film. The film has grossed $68 million worldwide.
