Filming for the New Captain Marvel 2 Set is set in New York City

Filming for the New Captain Marvel 2 Set is set in New York City ...

Carol Danvers, who plays Brie Larson, will make her long-awaited return to the big screen in her solo MCU sequel, The Marvels, in just under a year. After post-credits appearances inShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Captain Marvel will make her third appearance in Phase 4 alone, and her next solo appearance is expected to add something exciting to the Multiverse Saga.

The filming for this sequel began more than a year ago, and Marvel Studios is still working on ensuring that every aspect of the story meets the usual MCU standards in terms of visual and narrative quality. Due to recent scheduling changes, the release date was pushed back by six months to July 28, 2023, giving the studio more time to work on all the final details on screen.

Captain Marvel 2 is in the midst of the usual MCU reshoots to ensure that every aspect of the creative team's vision comes to fruition as planned. And now, those reshoots are taking viewers to a familiar location within the Marvel universe for filming.

Captain Marvel 2 Has Arrived in New York City

The Cosmic Circus confirmed these findings, revealing that at least one adult-sized cat was present for filming. This might be the return of the Flerkens from the first Captain Marvel, a species represented by Carol Danvers' Goose.

The Cosmic Circus speculated that the Flerkens would be dropped off or picked up by the mystery spaceship.

Crew members were also photographed filming near a bronze statue by artist Jim Dune namedApe and Cat (At the Dance), so it's possible that a scene will take place during the recording.

Marvel Studios are back in the United States.

As the Cosmic Avenger's story continues, New York City has remained a constant home for Marvel Studios, most recently seen in projects like Hawkeye, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Carol visited New York at the conclusion of her solo film and in Avengers: Endgame, although the motivation for this visit is unknown.

After the post-credits sequence from Vellani's Disney+show, it might be the location for a conversation between Carol and Iman Vellani, although the inclusion of Flerken raises other questions as well. New York remains one of Marvel's go-to destinations as the franchise seeks to bring another film to the big screen.

The Marvels is currently filming and will be released in theaters on July 28, 2023.
