The long-running soap operaDays of Our Lives is being moved to a new home on Peacock the streaming network in September, according to the press release. The program will include new episodes, as well as a Peacock Original spin-off, which premiered in December.

The long-running soap operaDays of Our Lives, which was previously broadcast on CBS, will no longer be available for free on Peacock the networks streaming service from September 12th. According to thepress release, fans who previously watched the program for free will now have to pay for their dose of drama beginning on the 12th.

The historic move to Peacock has created the ultimate location for daytime enthusiasts to access the Peacock Original spin-off, Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salemin at one location. The NBC News Daily program will air in the same time slot as the popular soap opera, promising to provide top-notch world-class reporting and breaking news coverage in a first-of-its-kind, live in most markets, mid-day news offering.

Mark Lazarus, the chairman of NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, said the programming shift benefits both Peacock and NBC. He added that this move helps us build the shows loyal fanbase on streaming, according to a press release.

Days of Our Lives is one of the longest-running scripted television series in the world, broadcasting almost every weekday since November 1965. However, other households include the Brady and Horton families as well as the Carvers, DiMeras, and Kiriakises. The series is produced by Corday Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television. Ron Carlivati leads the writing team.

Days of Our Lives was renewed for seasons 57 and 58 in 2021. Peacock premiered a five-episode spin-off film,Days of Our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas, in December 2021. Following their success, the second season ofBeyond Salempremiered in July this year. It also consisted of five daily installments.

Days of Our Lives isnt the only legacy broadcast show to move to a streaming platform, according to Variety. ABC previously stated that the shows' 31st season will now debut on that streaming service in September.
