Griffin will take on the role of full-time host for the 26th season, although she's already familiar with the talk show after guest-hosting multiple programs this season.

Griffin and Navarros have been promoted to full-time hosts a year after McCain resigned from The Viewfor good in August 2021. McCain, who had hosted the program for four seasons, has decided to leave to spend more time with her family in Washington, D.C.

Season 25 of The View casts in several guest co-hosts, from Kristen Soltis Anderson to Michele Tafoya.

ABC reportedly had trouble resolving a replacement for McCain, according to Politico in December. They were looking for a conservative co-host who would fulfill all of the criteria they were looking for, according to a formerViewstaffer. They want someone who is willing to fight but not too hard, because they dont want it to be ugly and conflicting.

ABC later denied the story and said it was on track to replace McCain.
